2023 Summer Opportunities
CALLING ALL Delaware, DC and Maryland Teachers!
CAMPS IN POLAND
APPLY TODAY!
Educational and Cultural Exchange, Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is to support educational and cultural programs between Poland and the United States. Our organization is going to be running 4 English language/American culture camps in Poland this summer. The camp in Suwalki, in northeastern Poland, at a local community arts center has a beautiful auditorium and art, theatre, and music classrooms. Currently, there is a staff of four teachers and four teacher aides. The organization is looking for one qualified teacher to complete the staff. Would you or anyone you know be interested? Would you be able to share this message with any colleagues who might be interested?
The children at this camp would be aged 11-14 and would have a basic proficiency in English already. There will be 50 children at our camp. The goal of the camp is to help the students develop their conversational English skills through interaction with native speakers of English. The children learn British English in school. Our camp program helps them to develop their skills through a fun, immersion experience, which also teaches the students about American culture (while we learn about Polish culture). Knowledge of the Polish language is not necessary! We will have four lessons in the morning and then activities in the afternoon that are run by the teacher aides.
The schedule for the camp would be:
June 22 – Departure of the American team from the USA
June 23 – Arrival in Poland, transportation to Suwałki
June 24 – City tour
June 25 – Meeting Polish teachers, preparing classrooms
June 26 – Opening ceremony and start of camp
June 26-June 30 – First week of camp
July 1-2 – Weekend sightseeing tour
July 3-7 – Second week of camp
July 7 – Closing ceremony, end of camp
July 8 – Suwałki Blues Festival
July 9 – Departure of American team from Poland
The American teachers and teacher aides are responsible for covering their airfare to and from Poland, but once in Poland, accommodations, meals, and transportation to and from the airport are provided by our Polish hosts, along with sightseeing tours.
Attached, please find a flyer about the program. Additional information and application materials can also be found at this website: https://eagle-orzel.org/apply- (-> https://eagle-orzel.org/apply-today/)today/
